Dubai chose the high quality and design Made in Italy for the interiors of the new Luxury Muraba Residence, situated on the artificial island Palm Jumeirah. A project signed by the prestigious Spanish Studio RCR Arquitectes, set up by three architects Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta, recently awarded with the Pritzker 2017 – the most important recognition at international level in the field of architecture. Just opened, Muraba is an exclusive corner of paradise situated in one of the most symbolic and most international places of the United Arab Emirates.
Muraba is a real jewel for lovers of architecture, designed to offer unique and comfortable environments. A project in which the attention to detail was the guideline, without getting lost in unnecessary opulent elements but favouring a minimalist style that has made the Muraba Residence the only one within its setting. The building, constructed with the most advanced architectural and engineering techniques, consists of 46 apartments and 4 penthouses overlooking the gulf in front, it stands out in the skyline of the city for the fact that it perfectly integrates with the surrounding environment, thanks to the lighting tricks, transparency and water, which remind us of the sea and create a visual continuum with the landscape. For fixed furnishings, two of the most prestigious brands of international design were chosen, Valcucine and Rimadesio. A completely bespoke project, which overall has registered significant numbers: around 3,800 front Covers by Rimadesio, 50 Valcucine kitchens, 300 Vanity Cabinets, 50 TV Cabinets.

The request of the architects was to suspend safely, and on two sides only, two light parallel spaces, with handles built-in to the wooden panels. Perfectly rectangular, fully functional usability, with an exemplary ergonomic study. Valcucine has been the ideal partner for its technical experience and engineering capacity of innovating security standards with high levels of functionality. Furthermore, the sustainability that characterises the craftsmanship blends perfectly with the technical quality and the aesthetic durability, giving each element, designed and tailor-made, “the uniqueness of a work of art”.
In the same way, the request of RCR regarding the system of cabinets designed for the apartments, has been to blend in with the architecture. The innovative system of patented front Cover, Rimadesio was the only one able to support the needs of such a project. Panels in glass that, anchored to floor/ceiling telescopic uprights, hide the internal aluminium fittings, leaving free the surrounding walls.

A prestigious project for us, which made us proud to be part of it. Massimiliano Troja, founder of TRJ, had the pleasure and honour of being hosted at the RCR studio in Spain and several times to personally follow the work on the construction site in Dubai. A collaboration in close contact with one of the most important and influential architectural practices in the world, giving us as a company and professionals, the possibility to visit and get to know up close such imposing achievements and of such great importance to the fascinating world of architecture.
