OUR PILLS PARTNERS
Alias at the fair with a stand with strong architectural features, three-dimensional light for Cappellini’s products, a clear look at the future in the Kartell space curated by Ferruccio Laviani, not just a home for the fine finishes presented by Rimadesio, Lago is inspired by genius by Leonardo and reinterprets it by designing 5 interiors inspired by the Cenacle, in the Valcucine space you are immersed in a forest of glass, in his showroom in Via Durini, Cassina defines new meanings and languages, always in the reconfirmation of your founding identity, with the project of restyling entrusted to Patricia Urquiola.

For the first time the 2018 edition, the 57th of the Salone del Mobile, opens with the publication of the Salone Manifesto, which intends to act as a driving force for a new way of thinking about the event and the city, to consolidate its internationalization process and the leadership role gained over the years. “The invitation to innovate is, in fact, an exhortation not to give in to self-celebration, but to look beyond what has already been done, to set ourselves as goals of sustainable quality, collaboration, inclusion and sharing, enhancing the talent of young people and cultural heritage. In this way, a design and architecture that really pays attention to the needs of a constantly evolving society, which enjoys futuristic projects but also needs many small emotions to live in everyday life, will really be shaped. ”
We share this invitation received at the Salone del Mobile and we continue our story by presenting our partners in detail.

Alias
Aluminum is the material of the Alias collection, which is presented at the Salone del Mobile with a stand with strong architectural features, a modular structure, completely removable and adaptable to different dimensional situations (both in height and in plan) in the name of lightness.
The will of the company is to enter in an important way in the market of upholstered furniture, precisely linked to the structural use of aluminum in extruded and die-cast elements.
The AluZen by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba is a modular system, while the Vina by Norguet, in the armchair and sofa configuration, is strongly characterized by a frame with an aluminum “V” in the rear corners. Also by NorguetIko, a family of chairs with a shell in the shape of a smooth and curved shell.
New versions for the Kobi and (New) Lady armchair, upholstered to guarantee a new image and greater comfort.

Cappellini
The Cappellini stand was awarded by the Frame jury as the best use of light in the Salone del Mobile stands. The idea is very simple, frame the products with lines of light in three dimensions: the result is really exciting.
The company presents itself with a series of new design products and the revisiting of great classics that have established its success and recognition, with new finishes:
the Juli in plastic and the Felt Chair in leather (presented for its 25th anniversary, in a limited and numbered edition and signed by its designer Marc Newson), the Cloud bookcase in an original solid wood finish;
the Newood chair in stackable wood, with slatted or non-slatted back, made with great craftsmanship rather than industrial.
Two new sofas were presented, the High Time by Christophe Pillet and the Hot Palm Springs by Carlo Colombo, in a modular upholstered system.
In Nendo, perhaps the most poetic product, Waku, a series of geometrically defined mirrors with a slender metal frame, which spatially draws rectangles.

Cassina
Fifty years after its opening, Cassina chooses to concentrate all its forces in the showroom in via Durini in Milan, the result of a new and radical architectural restyling and set-up, by art director Patricia Urquiola. No longer just an exhibition space, but presented with new work and conference rooms, connected by a spiral staircase and a new dome, fulcrum and icon.
By the same designer, the flagship product is a new modular sofa, the Bowy, characterized by a rounded shape and exceptional comfort, and the chair in wood and leather Back Wing without visible seams.
The designs of two Masters projects have been engineered, the Taliesin 1 (1949) wooden armchair by Wright, already present in the past in the collection but improved in detail, and
