TRJ, one of the entities directly involved, has questioned itself over <span lang=\"EN-US\">the future of <\/span>relationships<span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0within the furniture sector after the COVID19 emergency and beyond. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">G<span lang=\"NL\">uidelines <\/span>to implement<span lang=\"EN-US\"> the reopening of <\/span>businesses in<span lang=\"EN-US\"> the <\/span>food and beverage<span lang=\"FR\">, tourism, services<\/span>\u00a0and retail<span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span>sectors<span lang=\"EN-US\"> and <\/span>consequently for <span lang=\"EN-US\">furniture showrooms<\/span> have been drawn up but shifting to a future time frame, <span lang=\"EN-US\">we <\/span>wonder<span lang=\"EN-US\"> how the areas in <\/span>trade <span lang=\"EN-US\">fairs, showrooms and events will be designed<\/span>, <span lang=\"EN-US\">and <\/span>ask <span lang=\"EN-US\">whether<\/span> <span lang=\"EN-US\">everything will be reduced to a mere digital relationship or <\/span>whether <span lang=\"EN-US\">human contacts will remain fundamental.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\">Above and beyond <span lang=\"EN-US\">information regarding the use of personal protective equipment and the implementation of organi<\/span>s<span lang=\"EN-US\">ational measures,<\/span> i.e., working from home<span lang=\"EN-US\"> or <\/span>shift work to reduce to a minimum the number of presences <span lang=\"EN-US\">and <\/span>guarantee social distancing<span lang=\"EN-US\"> between workers and third parties (e.g.<\/span>,<span lang=\"EN-US\"> customers, suppliers, etc.)<\/span>, h<span lang=\"EN-US\">ow will this situation evolve<\/span>?<\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>TRJ<\/strong>, both as an agency assisting furniture <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/trj.it\/en\/dealers\/\">retailers<\/a>,<\/strong> and as consultants for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/trj.it\/en\/architects\/\">architects<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/trj.it\/en\/developers\/\">developers<\/a>,<\/strong> has spent <\/span>considerable <span lang=\"EN-US\">time in the last 10 weeks glued <\/span>to the<span lang=\"EN-US\"> screens of <\/span>its <span lang=\"EN-US\">devices on video conferences, webinars, live interviews, to discuss, to learn, to ponder <\/span>over <span lang=\"EN-US\">the past and <\/span>envisage<span lang=\"EN-US\"> a new future within the furniture sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">We asked some of the leading professionals in the world of design and architecture to share with us their vision of the future of relationships within the furniture sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1722 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/en-trj-it\/2020\/05\/b9528ed3-gilda_bojardi_flat.jpg\" alt=\"The future of relationships within the furniture sector\" width=\"800\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/en-trj-it\/2020\/05\/b9528ed3-gilda_bojardi_flat.jpg 800w, https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/en-trj-it\/2020\/05\/b9528ed3-gilda_bojardi_flat-300x113.jpg 300w, https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/en-trj-it\/2020\/05\/b9528ed3-gilda_bojardi_flat-768x288.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">&#8220;I don&#8217;t think <\/span><\/i><i>it\u2019s possible to <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">reduce the complex mechanism of the design industry to a mere digital relationship <\/span><\/i><i>given that <b>t<\/b><\/i><b><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">he system is based on relationships<\/span><\/i><\/b><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">, meetings and physical displays of products. <\/span><\/i><i>All of us<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> were <\/span><\/i><i>saddened when we learned Salone del Mobile had been cancelled. For the most part, we<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> were <\/span><\/i><i>all <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">ready for the <\/span><\/i><i>world of design\u2019s <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">main event, the one that marks <\/span><\/i><i>its <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">creative and productive year<\/span><\/i><i>; <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">Salone, together with FuoriSalone, <\/span><\/i><i>represents not only <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">a crucial moment from a commercial <\/span><\/i><i>view<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">point, but also an opportunity to confront creativity<\/span><\/i><i>. As<\/i><i><span lang=\"DE\"> such <\/span><\/i><i>it\u2019s the non-renounceable<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">event for <\/span><\/i><i>all persons <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">working in this sector. <\/span><\/i><i>Everyone in the supply chain of this <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">industry<\/span><\/i><i>, from designers<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">, architects, entrepreneurs, distributors, institutions <\/span><\/i><i>to <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">the whole world of communication<\/span><\/i><i>, <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">is trying to fill the void left by Salone<\/span><\/i><i>\u2019s and FuoriSalone\u2019s absence<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> by organi<\/span><\/i><i>s<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">ing virtual and digital meetings, conferences<\/span><\/i><i> and<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> presentations. All this would not have been possible without technology and <\/span><\/i><i>a <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">new mentality. We<\/span><\/i><i> <\/i><i><span lang=\"NL\">understood <\/span><\/i><i>to an even greater extent, <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0how powerful and useful the technology<\/span><\/i><i> <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">available nowadays is. But we also understood that <b>technology is only the means, not the goal<\/b>. We do not believe this period <\/span><\/i><i>will<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> stop development and <\/span><\/i><i>evolution, nor do we desire it,<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> but we think it will bring more <b>centrality and value to man, time and relationships<\/b>. But I don&#8217;t think this is <\/span><\/i><i>right course of action <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">to take. On the one hand, quarantine has definitely got us used to using digital tools in a more widespread and mature way. This is a<\/span><\/i><i>n important<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> point and from this,\u00a0<\/span><\/i><i>there\u2019s no turning <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">back. But on the other hand <strong>we are social animals<\/strong>, we are citizens and we will always need relationships and human contact. The issues of <\/span><\/i><i>social distancing<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> and s<\/span><\/i><i>afeness<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> should <\/span><\/i><i>transform into<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> an increase in the quality of services, a <\/span><\/i><i>differentiated and<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> more conscious use of time thanks to digital contribution, greater <\/span><\/i><i>attention to providing<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> a richer and better quality public experience. I believe that, in due time, <strong>it will be necessary to work on the concepts of care, quality and <\/strong><\/span><\/i><i><strong>safenes<\/strong>s<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> as primary services that every manager will be able to offer, thus building stronger relationships over time that could enrich what we have left behind. All this may have consequences on spaces but I <\/span><\/i><i>believe we should not <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">rush <\/span><\/i><i>ahead but rather <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">observe what happens in<\/span><\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0the coming months <\/span><\/i><i>so we can focus on well thought-out <\/i><i><span lang=\"FR\">transformations <\/span><\/i><i>that will bear up <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">in the future. N<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">ew proposals lead us to think that architecture <\/span><\/i><i>and the home environment<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> are fundamental for rebirth, <\/span><\/i><i>so we can <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">forget, <\/span><\/i><i>so we can<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> feel the <b>emotions <\/b>they give<\/span><\/i><i> us once more, so everything becomes<\/i><i><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\"> &#8220;fren<\/span><\/i><i>etic<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">&#8221; again<\/span><\/i><i>. So we can have<\/i><i><span lang=\"FR\"> moments <\/span><\/i><i>to <b>recapture<\/b><\/i><b><i><span lang=\"EN-US\"> lost time <\/span><\/i><\/b><b><i>and re-experience s<\/i><\/b><b><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">pace<\/span><\/i><\/b><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">, that space <\/span><\/i><i>which <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">generates well-being, work, conviviality, relaxation<\/span><\/i><i>;\u00a0<\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">that <\/span><\/i><i>all-purpose <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">space <\/span><\/i><i>which,<\/i> <i>to varying degrees <\/i><i><span lang=\"EN-US\">seemed <\/span><\/i><i>so small and constricted to us.
